Description:
Part of this painting has been conceived as a grafitti on a concrete wall. The technique used for the screw, torn paper and wall's rendition is "trompe-l'oeil" and was employed in the time of the ancient Roman Empire. Trompe-l'oeil gives to the eye teh impression of reality; the painting is no longer flat and the observer can believe he can actually hold or touch the object within the painting. It allows the artist to play with textures, contrasts. In this case, it is the interpretation of the concrete wall with its imperfections and smoothness, the cold metallic screw and the ragged wall.
