Description: 
This painting has been conceived as concrete wall imitation. The technique used to render the wall and the ring was employed in the time of the ancient Roman Empire. It is now called "Trompe-l'oeil", meaning the painting is no longer flat and the observer can believe he can actually hold or touch the object within the painting. It allows the artist to play with textures, contrasts. In this case, it is the interpretation of the concrete wall with its imperfections and smoothness, the cold metal of the ring.
