Description:

This painting has a unique feature - it can be displayed on any side. Use of different contrasts of colours : orange and reds on whites and black, and black on hues of whites. This work uses a technique that was first used in the time of the ancient Roman Empire, now called "Trompe-l'oeil" meaning the painting is no longer flat and the observer can actually believe he can hold the object within the painting. It allows the artist to  study and analyse textures, their oppositions and how those contrasts create a lively arrangement. In this case, it is the difference of the metal of the knife with its gleaming and reflection and the orange peel on the dish, that lays on the table cloth covering, what supposedly is a table.
