Description: 
This painting is the fourth of a series on Poppies. The technique used to render the details is Trompe-l'oeil. It was employed in the time of the ancient Roman Empire. The technique allows the artist to render more vividly the details of the object he is depicting and allows him to play with textures, contrasts. In this case, it is the hyper-realistic interpretation of the poppy.
