Description:

The main feature of this painting resides in its technique. The technique that was first used in the time of the ancient Roman Empire, now called "Trompe-l'oeil" meaning the painting is no longer flat and the observer believes that he can actually touch the object within the painting : the worn ropes that hold the piers together, the loose metallic wire, the wood and its cracks.

The whole composition inspires peace, serenity and a breezy feeling despite the glared, blue sky and the perception of heat reflected on the work of the stones.
